The Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills & Suspense (also known as Mr|Tots) is a performing arts ensemble of which I am a founding member. The group broadcasts from the Middlebury College radio station, WRMC 91.1 FM. During the academic year, Mr|Tots performs original and vintage radio dramas and comedies. When active, Mr|Tots broadcasts on Saturday nights at 6 PM ET. Its podcast can be found online through iTunes.
Loren Claypool, in addition to being parental unit extraordinaire, is a talented guitarist. His first album, One Feather Shy, was released in 2008, and is available through iTunes and at Amazon.com. He is currently at work on his second, entitled Breathe. He is also on Twitter.
Kathleen Claypool is my charming little sister and a student at the University of Wisconsin. She’s really begun establishing a solid web presence for herself recently, and has developed a fantastic voice as a writer. Her stuff is great, especially if you’re looking for a blog with a little honestly. She is also on Twitter.
Derek Long is currently a graduate student in Emory’s film program. A Middlebury alum, Derek is one of the original creative forces behind the Middlebury Radio Theater, and one of the best voice actors I’ve ever heard. He’s also a great guy and has some very interesting things to say about film and media. He too is on Twitter.
Jessie Gurd is another Middlebury alum and good friend. She earns special marks for the great patience she showed in playing a variety of comically degrading roles, ranging from stressed-out housewife to scheming maid, as a member of the Middlebury Radio Theater. She is also on Twitter.
Christopher O’Connell is the original Mr|Tots webmaster and tech guru, without whose generous patronage the program would not have been possible. Chris is an active member of the WordPress development community as well.
Jason Mittell is a film and media critic and professor at Middlebury College. I had the pleasure of taking two of Professor Mittell’s courses during my senior year. His blog, entitled Just TV, contains both scholarly articles and his own observations on everyday life. He is also on Twitter.
Cole Odell is another Middlebury alum. I had the pleasure of taking a J-Term course on the American graphic novel that he taught during the winter of 2007. His blog, Mountain of Judgment, is his take on topics both geek and mainstream.
Jason Gutierrez is a Midd alum, Vermonter, and cinemaphile. His blog, The Reel Debate, analyzes films that are a bit off the beaten path. Highly recommended.
